Council met on June 11, 2025. The following issues of general interest were addressed at the meeting:
1. The current north end sand back passing operation continues. Work is being done at night between 9th and 40th Streets in order to replenish sand and move heavy equipment while the beaches are closed to the public. The current goal is to complete the operation by the end of June.
2. The schedule of Council meetings for the year ending June 30, 2026 was approved.
3. A new police officer has been hired but will only be doing administrative duties until they can attend the Cape May County Police Academy.
4. No federal funds have been approved for a back passing operation in the coming year. This is the first year in recent history that no sand replenishment is confirmed/planned to restore the beaches in time for the summer high season.
5. The ad hoc committee formed to develop plans for the operation of Bay Park Marina has discussed their recommendations with the mayor and presented their report to Council. Assignment of boat slips will be made from the existing list.
6. Patrick Barber has been appointed as the new electrical sub-code official. He will be paid $22,500 per year.
7. The Bay Park Marina kayak park is now open while final improvements under the existing project continue towards completion.
