Borough Council met on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 for their regular meeting. The following items, of general interest, were addressed:
1. Four new police officers have been hired and will begin their Police Academy training by the end of April. The four new officers are Lisa Gomez, Joshua Keane, Kevin Sack, and Justin Rose.
2. Anyone doing business within the Borough of Avalon must register and pay a $25.00 fee by August 1st or face a financial penalty. This does not apply to vacation rental property owners who already pay a $375.00 annual fee.
3. Council approved emergency funds for repair of the 37th Street pier.
4. Council approved a resolution to continue a slight encumbrance on the property previously known as the Waffle House.
